The Hubject interoperability platform is expanding to offer financial settlement services between chargepoint operators and e-mobility service providers, with Enel X chosen to enable this.

The service, which is dubbed Intercharge SETTLEMENT, enables automated B2B payment and invoicing, which Hubject is lauding as having the ability to reduce B2B processing costs and help improve profitability of the participating partner companies, with Hubject having 750+ partners on its eRoaming platform.

Enel X – which purchased a 12.5% stake in Hubject last year – has a number of interoperability agreements through the platform, which has over 200,000 chargers across Europe, as well as having its own European charging networks in Italy, Spain and Romania, totalling around 8,000 public chargepoints.

Hubject’s platform enables interoperability between networks, with drivers able to access any of the charging networks signed up to the platform without needing memberships to the individual networks.

The company is lauding the new solution as the first fully integrated end-to-end financial B2B settlement service within the e-mobility sector, with the service to be available by the end of the year.

It is to allow chargepoint operators to directly determine the B2B tariffs for charging processes, as well as automating the invoicing and billing process with e-mobility service providers.

Other solutions looking at easing the payment process have been launched as of late, including one launched by Octopus Energy earlier this year under the Electric Juice brand.

The Electric Juice payment interoperability service was designed for fleets, consolidating costs onto a single bill even when a driver charges on different networks. Currently, and Engenie have both signed up to the service.

Hubject said its solution removes the errors associated with manual activities in rating, invoicing and payment processes by eliminating the manual element altogether, as well as improving payment security, controlling operating expenses and helping businesses reduce them substantially.
