Sara Sloman

Principal Sustainable Travel and Road Safety Officer

North Somerset Council

Sara Sloman has worked in Sustainability and Transport since 2004 in both private consultancy and local authority roles in the West of England region. An advocate of sustainable transport options and “2018 EV Champion” award winner, Sara specialises in behaviour change related projects in an economic development context. Sara works on capital delivery projects but believes in the importance of putting people’s travel behaviour and needs first. Sara is proud to be leading on the Go Ultra Low West Charging Hub project for North Somerset, which is set to be the first of its kind in the South West. Throughout the Go Ultra Low West project Sara has met several industry professionals and is striving to offer local business and residents insight into electric vehicles and how they can benefit the local area. GULW schemes available include match funded grants for infrastructure provision both privately and in the public realm, opportunity to try an electric vehicle and have all questions answered they may have. Walking and Cycling are a large part of Sara’s life both at work and at home but her passion is her mountain bike, and hopes an EV will exist to support that lifestyle in the next few years. Sara’s aspiration is to continue to apply a business approach to her work in the local authority and take strides to improving the local infrastructure and environment.
